Hi everybody...
Would anybody be willing to provide brief video snippets or photos for a tornado safety video or two that the Metropolitan Emergency Management Association (MEMA) is working to produce? I'm part of the MEMA organization, and we are working with Anoka County emergency management (and the Anoka County public information office) to develop this. The video(s) will be for awareness week, and will appear on their web site, our web site, the Minnesota state awareness week site at
www.severeweather.state.mn.us, and probably Vimeo, YouTube, etc. You can see a brief video clip called "coughs and sneezes spread diseases" that Anoka County did at
www.readyanokacounty.us
This video clip (or clips) would be produced by the same people who did that. At some point, it might even become part of a larger type of safety video that could get shown on public access TV, but we don't know yet. We're just taking the first steps on this, and a brief clip or clips seemed the best way to get started.
This is not something I normally do on a forum, but in this case, with copyright being a concern, it seemed like a better approach than asking specific people. So I'm throwing this out to see if anybody is willing to be involved, with the knowledge that their video clips or photos will wind up on some web sites somewhere. That's why a brief snippet might be best. They'd prefer video/photos from the general area in and around Minnesota, but if necessary, could go beyond the area. I don't believe they have enough money to deal with a stock photo/video company, but maybe they do, and I know some of you are very involved with some companies, so maybe some of you have some ideas on that.
If anyone is willing to do this, that would be phenomenal. For various reasons, I have asked Tony Perkins to help out, and he has kindly agreed to be the person to attend to any of your offers, and then get in contact with the person at Anoka County who is working on this. So if you are willing, please let Tony know. Thanks very much.
Todd
